Germany Plans DVB-I Launch by End of 2026, Merging Broadcast and Streaming Into One Channel List

Deutsche TV-Plattform will introduce DVB-I in Germany later this year, presenting broadcast and IP-delivered services in a single channel list on smart TVs and set-top boxes without viewers opening individual apps, RTL Deutschland's Frank Heineberg, who heads the DTVP task force, told the FRK Broadband Congress in Leipzig. Streaming platforms such as RTL+ and Joyn could be integrated with existing account log-ins, with public-service channels remaining free while commercial services may require payment.
