Danish Broadcasters Take 58% of TV Viewing While Netflix Gets 6%, Ranchet Tells Copenhagen
In her Copenhagen TV Festival keynote, analyst Marion Ranchet used Danish viewing data to argue that US-centric strategy decks mislead European operators: DR and TV 2 command 58% of Danish viewing against Netflix’s 6%. Grading the US and Europe across seven pillars, from advertising stack to distribution, she found Europe trails on most but wins decisively on the one that matters most — local content and audience trust — with 66% of Danes watching video on a TV set daily versus 41% in the US.
