Channel 4 Confirms 340 Job Cuts — 28% of Its Workforce — in Its Biggest-Ever Restructuring
Channel 4 confirmed on 9 September it will cut around 340 roles, about 28% of its workforce, in the first phase of a transformation programme CEO Priya Dogra says will strip out management layers and redirect non-programming spend into original British content, with consultation starting shortly and reductions complete by year-end. The state-owned, ad-funded broadcaster has posted three consecutive pre-tax losses and draws 90% of its £1.03 billion revenue from advertising; Commons culture committee chair Caroline Dinenage said MPs will question the broadcaster over the plans.
